Scammers have had a field day targeting unsuspecting South Africans looking for holiday accommodation in Cape Town this summer, laughing all the way to the bank while their victims ended up having to abandon their holiday plans. The victims or potential victims News24 spoke to all responded to adverts on social media - mainly Facebook. It appeared to be legitimate and featured existing rental properties.
