It's been argued that the proposed works will permanently damage trade and severely impact the customer experience at the store.

THE GRAFTON GROUP plc-owned Woodies DIY is objecting to the draft Railway Order for the planned Dublin MetroLink over the impact it will have on a Woodies DIY outlet in Swords in north Dublin.

Whelan of O’Connor Whelan planning consultancy stated that this can be avoided by a simple re-alignment of the scheme at the location. Whelan states the current planned route “cannot be decided on until a cost benefit analysis has been undertaken, including an assessment of the impact on existing businesses and development sites”.He states that “this analysis should have been undertaken and provided to all stakeholders, which it has not”.

He points out that the Environmental Impact Assessment Report lodged with the scheme indicates that the duration of works at the ‘Woodie’s Satellite site’ will be four and a half years.

Holding back the country for their profits. Not acceptable

This is nonsense, long term they'll benefit

Translation grafton group trying to get some pieces of gold. They don't own any of the land acquisition so attempting the loss of business angle. Jokers.

Getting ripped off by their prices won't help trade either

Nimbyism once again. This is why we can never build infrastructure on any value on this island

Couldnt give a flying fuck

Woodies won’t be here in 100 years on the other hand the Metrolink will & it will be hugely economical beneficial for Dublin & the Irish economy, benefiting millions for generations to come with faster, greener & better connectivity for Dublin~Dublin Airport which is badly needed.

And we should be listening to them why? The metrolink is needed. Get over it Woodies
