Recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics found that only 27.5% of private-sector businesses reported that their employees worked from home or another remote location some or all of the time between August 1, 2022 and September 30, 2022. In other words, 72.5% of private-sector organizations — up from 60% in the July-to-September 2021 period — said they did not have employees working remotely.

At my company you could always call corporate and get the answer in a few minutes. Now that they are WFH you have to email and sometimes it the next day before they respond. Now tell me that’s more efficient.

WFH 3 years and counting. No more driving 2 1/2 hours 5 days a week. That extra 12 hours I spend mostly doing more work for my company. But also have the flexibility to do things at home.

Only certain jobs allow for remote operations. Even those that do, it will take quite some time to rid the world of employers who can’t adapt to not staring over their subordinates’ shoulders.
