She is a serial social entrepreneur, including being a former innovator-in-residence at CARE; a policymaker in the Obama administration advising on the internet and innovation; a consultant at McKinsey; and an investment advisor to Eric Schmidt's family office. Berkowitz was thinking about where the business opportunities were to address societal problems.
