Authors apparently never ran a publicly held company. Of course option grants are frequently timed to stock price, that’s the whole point - make the incentive as good as possible. If they are claiming unnecessary or misleading press releases they should investigate that.

Once company executives hurt a company enough resulting in heavily leveraged debt situations they still get bonuses but instead of basing on profit they use earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization(EBITDA). Don’t trust or vote for one. Narcissists
