FINDING a suitable investment to place one's hard-earned money into takes a lot of work. Some say it’s a combination of knowledge, skill, and art. However, an investment scheme endorsed by someone trustworthy can make the decision easier.

Recently, advertisements for what claims to be a Shariah-compliant investment with high returns has been making the rounds on social media; it features the photo of Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof. But is this endorsement too good to be true? Are scammers using the photo of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council chairman to promote their fake investment scheme?Police have confirmed receiving a complaint from Abdul Aziz about his photograph being used to advertise a fake share investment scheme on social media.

Selangor Police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the report was lodged at about 2.45 pm on Monday , adding that the complainant denied involvement in the scheme.
