Project Officers from the council’s Economic Development Team will host the drop-in sessions

Business owners are being invited to a meeting by Rossendale Borough Council to share their thoughts on a project updating shop fronts and the street scene.

Ahead of work on Higher Deardengate, Rossendale Borough Council is consulting Haslingden’s business owners for their thoughts on the project in November. The project is set to update the shop fronts and street scene around Big Lamp, as well as planning a series of events in the area. Business owners are invited to a meeting on Wednesday at Haslingden Library, while the public can have their say during drop-in sessions at the same venue, scheduled for Tuesday November 14 and Friday November 24. The aim of the sessions is to inform users of Higher Deardengate of the upcoming public realm works and answer any questions about the project. Planned work will be funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Rossendale Borough Council.

“The people are the beating heart of Haslingden. Whether you live there, work there or just visit the area, it is a place defined by its people and we want to include that community spirit in the project. “We encourage everyone to come and listen to the plans and share their thoughts. It is one we can all be excited about.”
