Small Business Week is a nationwide celebration, but it’s especially big in Pennsylvania.

Sunday is officially the start of Small Business Week and businesses around the Susquehanna Valley are ready to celebrate.The US Small Business Administration reported that in 2022, across Pennsylvania, there were 1.6 million small businesses making up 99.6% of all state businesses.The administration also reports 2.6 million people were working at a small business in Pennsylvania. That accounts for just under half of the state’s entire workforce.

'We're embedded in we are a part of our communities, my business is a 3 generation family business but we use the term family business in a broader way than just family ownership we think of the people who work for us as family,' said Rowen.Rowen says that running a shop like his is no easy feat.'There's lots of ups and downs. So, emotionally you have to understand when you're doing well and embrace it and feel great about it.
