The £365m music venue had been due to officially open at the end of April - but has faced a number of delays

TransPennine Express is offering full refunds to customers impacted by cancellations due to delays with the opening of the Co-op Live Arena.

The latest setback came on Wednesday night ,when the venue was due to reopen with a show from A Boogie Wit da Hoodie. However, the show was postponed just as queues were forming outside due to a 'piece of the air conditioning unit' falling from the ceiling. As a result, the shows from Olivia Rodrigo scheduled for this Friday and Saturday were also postponed with no new date announced yet.

Darren Higgins, Commercial Director for TPE, said: “We recognise that many of our customers will be affected by postponed events at the Co-op Live arena. We hope the decision to offer full refunds will provide some relief to those who have been impacted. We look forward to seeing them on our services once these events have been rescheduled.”

The special late service will depart from Manchester Victoria at 12.36am on Saturday 4 May. It will then call at Newton-Le-Willows and Lea Green before arriving at Liverpool Lime Street.
