The Albanese government has announced a $20 million investment into the historic Leichhardt Oval in Sydney's Inner West. The investment includes $10 million from the NSW government and $10 million from the local council.

A joint $40 million investment into Sydney's Leichhardt Oval has been announcement by the Albanese government.

The fund will go towards increasing seating capacity by 3000 seats, developing a new northern grandstand and new female-friendly change rooms.Leichhardt Oval is one of two home grounds for the West Tigers NRL side. "This investment will not only be great for the Wests Tigers, but will see Leichhardt Oval continue to be a hub for school, women and girls' sport," he said.
