The future of Darius Garland with the Cleveland Cavaliers has come into focus following the three-year extension Donovan Mitchell signed with the franchise. At the conclusion of the 23-24 season, there wasthat Garland could request a trade from the Cavaliers if Mitchell decided to sign an extension. Mitchell and Garland have a strong working relationship, but there are questions if the on-court fit maximizes each of their talents.

The Cavaliers, however, do not appear to have any interest in trading Garland or any other member of their core four players including Mitchell, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. Garland and Allen are considered the more probable trade candidates, but Garland's market is not believed to be considered particularly strong at this time.
