Meanwhile, more allegations of racism relating to Pinelands High School in the Western Cape, have emerged…Meanwhile, the South African Human Rights Commission’s Gauteng office says they will engage with the Pretoria High School for Girls Principal next week Monday to gather more information about the racism scandal that erupted earlier this week.
The scandal was triggered by alleged racial connotations and complaints about black learners expressed through a WhatsApp group comprising white learners.The provincial Commissioner Tshepo Madlingozi says the Commission has engaged with the school before and that led to good policy changes. He says they are very disappointed to see that these issues may be continuing.
“It is clear that the school acted very swiftly to suspend the alleged perpetrators therefore as I’ve said we have asked to meet with the school principal. I started to say we have not done enough as a country to really go to the root causes of patriarchy and racism and so forth so we will continue to see these incidents happening, what we demand to see is action and action that is fair to the alleged perpetrators.
