Western Cape Minister of Agriculture and Economic Development Dr Ivan Meyer says he has had fruitful talks with Transnet’s Port of Cape Town management on improving services at the port.
The World Bank Container Port Performance Index of 2023 has ranked the Port of Cape Town as the worst-performing port in the world. Meyer has emphasised the importance of the port as the province’s economic hub to carry out the provincial government’s growth plans.n is the biggest link in the agricultural exports in the Western Cape. I’ve recently visited the harbour and I was informed of the new developments in the management of the harbour and the investment in new infrastructure to increase our Western Cape exports.
