A gritter lorry has been gutted by a 'significant' fire that is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.Upon arrival, Market Drayton Fire Station says crews discovered a"significant fire in progress, involving a gritter lorry.
The fire service reports that the lorry fire is believed to have started due to an electrical fault, and that it has caused 'extensive' damage to the vehicle.No injuries have been reported from the fire, and Firefighters were finished at 8.21pm. Hodnet crews remained on the scene to 'damp down' while firefighters from Market Drayton left to replenish their water supply to be available for further emergency calls.A post by Market Drayton Fire Station said:"At 7.54pm this evening the rescue pumps from Hodnet and Market Drayton, and an officer from headquarters, were mobilised to reports of a large vehicle fire at Ollerton.
"The fire, which was believed to have started due to an electrical fault, caused extensive damage to the vehicle but we are pleased to report there were no injuries to any persons. "Hodnet crew remained to damp down whilst Market Drayton crew left to replenish their water supply and be available for further fire calls."
