WHO calls for patient safety improvements

The World Health Organisation has called on healthcare professionals to improve patient safety, as it marked World Patient Safety Day.

This year’s theme is Get it right, make it safe, and is aimed at highlighting the importance of correct and timely diagnosis of patients. Locally, the Innovative Pharmaceutical Association of South Africa celebrated the day by calling on healthcare providers to improve how they relate to patients. Bada Pharasi is IPASA CEO, “It’s intended to raise public awareness and bring about collaboration among everybody, in fact, patients, healthcare workers, policymakers and all other healthcare leaders.
