The Yola Electricity Distribution Company, YEDC, has announced the procurement of 1,880 new meters for its Band A customers. The company, which has the states of Adamawa, Taraba, Yobe and Borno as its coverage area, said on Tuesday that it obtained the meters under the Meter Acquisition Funds, MAF, programme for Band A users.

This is according to the Communications Officer of the company, Blessing Tunoh, who said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the company to provide accurate billing and improve customer satisfaction. “Following the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission's approval of the MAF process, YEDC will deploy a total of 1,880 meters,' Tunoh said in a statement, adding, 'This allocation comprises 1,500 single-phase meters and 380 three-phase meters.

' She explained that the installation will be carried out by approved meter vendors over two weeks from November 18 to November 30, 2024. “The MAF project is a special intervention under the Presidential Metering Initiative, launched on June 13, 2024, to accelerate metering for electricity consumers nationwide,' she explained.
