Free State Emergency Services spokesperson, Sipho Towa says preliminary investigations reveal that one vehicle attempted to overtake colliding with an oncoming vehicle., including foreign nationals were killed on the R74 road between Harrismith and Qwaqwa in the Free State on Sunday.
The deceased, seven adults and two children, were burnt beyond recognition in the collision between two vehicles. Free State Emergency Services spokesperson, Sipho Towa says preliminary investigations reveal that one vehicle attempted to overtake colliding with an oncoming vehicle. “It’s a Navara double cab that collided with another vehicle, and after they collided they also caught fire. In the Navara there were two occupants and were declared dead; five occupants in the other vehicle were declared dead on the scene. All in all we lost nine lives in the accident.”
