Khoisan still waiting for President at Union Buildings as yearlong protest continues via SABCNewsOnline

Chief Khoisan SA says although it’s painful that the yearlong protest has not yielded positive results, they will remain resilient.says he will continue to camp at the Union Buildings, in Pretoria, until he meets with President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Chief Khoisan SA and a small group of Khoisan community members have been camping in tents outside the official seat of government since November 2018. They say they will not move until Ramaphosa engages them on their demands, which include among others, the recognition of the Khoisan people as the first nation in South Africa.

Chief Khoisan SA says although it’s painful that the yearlong protest has not yielded positive results, they will remain resilient. “We have got four demands, recognition as the first nation of South Africa; the second one is the language – to be the official language of South Africa; third one is to also be part of the land. Land that has been expropriated, we also want land back and the fourth one is the removing of the coloured term from the document z83 form.”

Where were this people during liberation struggle? Why didn't they made this claim before 1994. Problem is, part of them were part of machinery that colluded with the apartheid system to fight against liberation movements.

It shouldn’t take a year to simply speak to them on your way out

To think they are the true inherited land owners. Whilst the rest are all invaders

3DMapLady There are many self appointed Khoisan 'Chiefs' with out any followers; they are mushrooming like Nigerian pastors. No so long ago it was not fashionable to be identified as either Khoi or San - now people confusingly identify themselves as both Khoi and San all in one

It is not about the Pres not 'feeling anything ' for these people. It was almost the first thing he did way back in Dec 2017 to visit them at UB after he won leadership of the ANC. But they don't seem to understand that it is not within the power of the Pres to make those laws..

It's absolutely unforgivable that these folk have been allowed to set up home at the Union Buildings - so next those aggrieved with their present status can do the same - where is our country going

I think this has to do with whites because they are very close to Colourds. Once they granted that opportunity whites will take over using them. Ramaphosa is scared of that.

he will be shocked hey

3DMapLady Keep waiting - CyrilRamaphosa does not want to hear inconvenient arguments.

It`s clear...The President feels fokkol for the Khoisan and their demands!!

We do not have a president in this country...

The president is not coming, someone please tell them!!!

For such a 'caring' government, this is terrible. You would here them(Politicians) saying we care about 'our people'.

Malay coloureds wants to steal our land...Let the president attend them with health professionals for DNA tests

Don’t they read about Nokuthula in the papers? These ones though 🙄
