Robinhood had a year filled with negative news — but it seems to have taken a turn for the better. The fintech finished 2018 with an to launch checking and savings accounts with 3% interest rates, but it had to rebrand the service after the SIPC explained the new offering may not fall under its regulatory oversight, and consumer money would therefore not be protected. The rebranded Cash Management feature was eventually launched in October this year.
