Sens. Ted Cruz and Tom Cotton appear to have broken the no phone rule as senators struggle without their devices

Patrick Leahy rushed to get his phone during the first recess break,. He even did an impression of Gollum from "Lord of the Rings," stroking his phone while saying "Oh, my precious.

A Huffington Post reporter also spotted Sen. Amy Klobuchar pacing inside the Democratic cloakroom during the proceeding, clutching her phone. "It's a little hard," said Sen. Mazie Hirono told Huffington Post. "But it makes us focus on what's going on."

Republicans just can’t follow any rules.

I don't blame them. If I were attending a kayfabe wrestling match I would be bringing my phone as well. I Marvel at how people get so caught up in a diversion. Meanwhile their personal houses are burning down.

They should be removed from the trial then - that’s what would happen in a real trial.
