JetBlue founder David Neeleman reveals how his airline can succeed by flying weird routes for low prices

where other airlines don't think there's enough demand.

According to Neeleman, the opportunity exists because, as costs increase for airlines, they have a tendency to retrench their network to focus on their hubs and operate larger planes. They leave behind smaller, less trafficked destinations, creating opportunity. "I would be very surprised if a single Moxy" — now Breeze — "route had nonstop service competition," Neeleman said in a 2019 interview with Business Insider. "There are literally hundreds and hundreds of city pairs that are crying out for nonstop flights."

"We'll do that, we'll do scheduled service — we have a lot of flexibility with the -195 to fill in gaps where no one can, where they don't have the same capital cost structure." Customers will be able to handle pretty much every part of their flight through an app, plus a website and possibly kiosks at the airport, from purchasing tickets, accessing boarding passes, registering checked bags changing flights, trading seats, and more. Each of those steps removes the need to interact with a person.
