.aclennell says the NSW and Victoria Premiers will push for a complete shutdown of non-essential business nationwide at the national cabinet this evening in a bid to slow the spread of coronavirus

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says the NSW and Victoria Premiers will push for a complete shutdown of non-essential business nationwide at the national cabinet this evening in a bid to slow the spread of coronavirus.

Victorian officials will push for schools to be closed from Tuesday and if the national cabinet does not endorse this position, the state will go it alone. Mr Clennell said the move is a sign “the states perhaps have had enough” but stressed what was being discussed was a shutdown, not a lockdown. “Shut down means non-essential services, it means your grocery stores, your chemists will be open, but other businesses will be shut.
