is donating $100,000 in financial grants to professional nail artists who were affected by the mandated closures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

To be considered, nail artists seeking help must meet certain criteria, such as being a licensed nail professional for at least a full year as of March 16, 2020 and currently living in a state or county that forced nonessential businesses to close. Those who qualify can turn in applications, including a 200-word essay explaining how the money will help them, at. A panel of judges will then review applications and decide who will receive $1,000.

Arnold has been keeping in touch with many CND professional nail artists, many of whom she says are using this time to be more creative and innovative with their art. "[Nail professionals] are not a woe-is-me community. They are lively, they are learning, and they are using this downtime to collaborate and ask questions," she says. "When we go back to the salon, man, they got an arsenal of exciting ideas for their clients.
