Private-equity firms are offering more than just money to help combat the coronavirus pandemic.

Although some sponsors are setting up relief funds to help portfolio company employees and communities affected by the virus, many others are leveraging the abilities of their portfolio companies to help governments and health-care workers mitigate the pandemic’s impact.
