Hotels are selling credits and 'bonds' for future discounted travel in order to stay afloat during coronavirus shutdowns

has launched a Hotel Credits store that allows travelers to buy hotel credits for 24 properties through its website. Credits can be purchased through its website at two tiers: $120, later redeemable for $150; and $200, later redeemable for $300. Participating properties are located across the globe, from Thailand to Lake Como to Los Angeles and Nairobi.

The purpose of the program is to help independent hotels keep their staff employed, and Porter & Sail is not taking any fees. 3. Hotel discounts and special restaurant deals range from a $50 food and beverage credit at Casa de Campo Resort & Villas in the Dominican Republic to 20% off a three-night stay at Hotel Bijou in San Francisco. The database describes hotel discounts and special offers in each listing, but travelers must click through to the hotels' individual websites in order to purchase them.

I don't see people traveling again internationally if a country's hospitals haven't been able to expand capacity, if people have been untreated.

Great idea but I no longer have an income and finding it’s impossible to get unemployment.

That’s a good idea. I think other industries could also utilize this tactic.
