Bankruptcies, tech-savvy doctors, and data for the greater good: The CEO of health-tech giant Epic shares her predictions for how US healthcare will change after the coronavirus

She discussed how the US healthcare system will change after theThe fallout of the pandemic will be long-lasting, especially for smaller providers and nursing homes that can't afford to stay afloat after steep drops in revenue, she said.

Epic's been called on to handle a litany of pandemic-related problems, Faulkner said in an interview with Business Insider. For instance, the company has been helping install its software for mobile clinics and hospitals that're expanding, and aggregating data for government officials, even as many of its roughly 10,000 employees work from home.

"How do we do virtual training? How do we do virtual installs?" she said. "What about drive-throughs? How did we do drive throughs? There were so many things that we started doing that were new."
