The website, which now just reads ‘coming soon’, allegedly marketed PPE products for ‘medical, dental, adult social care, the food industry and personal use’. Prices began at £19,500 for minimum orders of 10,000 units, The Guardian reports.Mr Singleton told journalists the NHS had been notified about Sure Stock and he has told it would be unlikely to cause conflict because there would be no customer crossover.
Mr Singleton was transferred to London’s NHS Nightingale hospital during the coronavirus outbreak, his company was set up to profit from the sale of PPE equipment In a statement emailed to The Guardian, Mr Singleton said Sure Stock ‘has not and will not sell PPE and related equipment to the NHS, or any NHS organisation’, adding ‘any such allegation is false’.
However, a photograph on his website advertising face shields allegedly showed a visor with the NHS logo on the front, while deals for NHS clients were also on offer, the publication reports. The website also allegedly stated: ‘For our NHS heroes your price is fixed!’ Mr Singleton’s statement said face shields had not been sold to the NHS as they failed to meet ‘complex medical regulations’ that cover the manufacture and supply of emergency products.
