Customers, wearing protective facemasks, queue at the cheese counter in order to be served behind a transparent plastic curtain at a covered market in Le Perreux-sur-Marne on April 19, 2020 on the 34th day of a strict lockdown aimed at curbing the spread of the COVID-19, .French dairy farmers are dealing with a surplus of cheese because demand dropped nearly 60% during the pandemic. The EU and dairy farmers are at odds when it comes to finding solutions to the market imbalance.

Cheese sales dropped nearly 60% percent during the pandemic because of restaurant closures, shrinking international trade, and people buying less top-dollar cheeses, according to aBut as the market goes haywire from plummeting demand, European milk producers at the apex of their seasonal production are struggling to handle issues with the market, and risk wasting a 5,000 ton surplus of cheese,"There are producers experiencing drops in prices that are catastrophic," Michel Lacoste,...

Just share it with people or countries which don’t have enough food! It’s so simply to be a human!

Send it to the US for potatoes and Canada for milk

No!

I guess there are no food banks, homeless, meals on wheels in France that would benefit from the additional cheese being donated, or using the gov. money that is being paid to store the cheese to purchase and donate.

Sent it to Hialeah Fla.ASAP please. Critical lack of cheese.😳🐭🐭🐭

This is upsetting meeeeee 😭😭😭

Please get it shipped to India immediately

Lol. It will not be wasted. Only more mature.

This world is suffering through a logistics failure! Half the world can't find food, the other half is dumping food. sigh
