Trump says doing too much coronavirus testing makes the US 'look bad' as he pushes for the country to reopen

President Donald Trump speaks about the coronavirus disease response during a meeting with Iowa Governor Kimberly Reynolds in the Oval Office at the White House in Washington, May 6, 2020.President Donald Trump thinks that too much coronavirus testing makes the US "look bad."

The US still lags behind other countries in terms of the share of the population tested for coronavirus. Though public health experts have consistently said the US needs to ramp up testing for coronavirus in order to contain and defeat it, President Donald Trump does not see it that way. "So the media likes to say we have the most cases, but we do, by far, the most testing. If we did very little testing, we wouldn't have the most cases. So, in a way, by doing all of this testing, we make ourselves look bad,""For instance, they would say we have more than China.

Testing for coronavirus has been a major issue in the US for months, as the country's response has been hampered by nationwide shortages in test kits.

Ok. I've got it. Stop testing and the virus will disappear. Ingenious.

As our president surely isn't any kind of a medical professional, he should leave the important decisions to the people that have the knowledge about them.

As of today, according to official figures, the US has experienced 33.4% of the world's Coronavirus cases and 28.2% of consequent deaths, with just 4.3% of the world's population.

Because then we all will know how rampant COVID19 is in the US

It appears most in media would like to see everyone locked down to stay safe, except for the media. So the media can created hysteria like Ventilators, PPE'S , hospital beds, then move on to toilet paper and hand sanitizer now it is food supply. Fake News

Then don't do testing in the White House.

He's a fool. And I wouldn't vote Pense for dog catcher.

Testing is bullshit unless you are testing everyone every day.

Very misleading headline—all he’s saying is that high testing = high case count. Wouldn’t expect this from but this is becoming a theme. This is very true—many Americans do not recognize the causative effect that massive amounts of testing have on case data

BVC. BATH ADVANCED COMMUNICATIONS Antibody test, which is ready in a couple of months that’s what we want. Come on

Trump thinks he can gaslight a virus.
