HBO Max's lack of Roku and Amazon support casts a big shadow over its launch day

HBO Max launched on Wednesday, but isn't available for Roku and Amazon, the two biggest streaming distribution platforms with a combined 70% market share.

Max reached a last-minute deal with Comcast, the largest cable provider on the US, on Wednesday for existing Xfinity HBO customers, who will have access to Max at no extra cost. The price is the main problem. FAR too expensive. Then there's the confusing multiple platforms, HBO Go, HBO Now, HBO Max... What's next? A fourth one? HBO Bingo? No sale.

It is super frustrating. All of our TVs are Roku and just bought a new tcl that had built in Roku. Have to watch on phone and laptop for now. Of it doesn’t get straight soon we will just drop hbo max
