Because wall street is manipulated. It is basically immune to any bad news now. Trump and the Fed will do whatever it takes to keep it up! So the market will.go up anyway!

Why the markets are ignoring everything should be the right question....

gtconway3d Why is it ignoring 40M unemployed and 105,000 people dead in 2 months.

gtconway3d the markets lost its connection with reality. not just with main street. companies are valued 20 and 30 times their annual profits. the fed balance sheets. gov debt. personal debt. truth is too hard to confront. so the markets are 'high', to avoid reality.

Who says they ignore it? They just party on it.

gtconway3d why is the stock market ignoring the several crises going on here?

HK problems were there even before virus sell off. It's political staff. Wall street boom can only be good for recovery. Certainly sell off wouldn't help people that lost job.

the stock market ignores everything ...

Because it doesn’t matter to wall street and corporations. They are forward looking doesn’t disrupt commerce

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how much the market has been manipulated in the past two months. They are pumping for Trump

📈📈

Why are they ignoring the riots in their own country?

gtconway3d World War III could start on Monday and the market would go up.

Bonds and cash are terrible options as we head into recession. Large cap stocks are actually safest and best value. Millennials have more disposal savings than ever. Others got $1200 checks, more money than their normal income. Stop writing as if the market has a brain.

gtconway3d I believe we have a pretty big problem here. Can we focus on that first?

If you don't know, you don't understand the basic structure of markets.

gtconway3d Excellent question

gtconway3d Relatedly: Wall Street has barely noticed the US’s 25% unemployment, which is ridiculous considering how important consumer spending is to corporate profits

The stock market is the economic marketing wing of the rich. It is not a leading economic indicator of our nations prosperity.

gtconway3d Because the stock market isn’t the same thing as the economy.

gtconway3d Because the market knows Trump's words have less meaning than my farts(after eating 3 big burritos).

gtconway3d And the exploding crisis at home?!

gtconway3d The sell off is coming and the 1% will cash in...America’s greatest hoax is the Stock Market

gtconway3d Will they ignore the crisis in U.S.?

gtconway3d What about the brewing crisis in the US?

Every country has its own crisis.

what about the fact that its ignoring the protests going on within its own borders?

Because we are selling them weapons lots of profit market volatility

gtconway3d There are no good nazis running around in China . No fake preachers to do evil things behind Jesus. No 100k deaths. If you don’t like the deals you make with China, that is on you. There is a channel called deplomacy and negotiation.

gtconway3d Just ask those farmers who were turned into welfare queens. China didn’t take anybody’s job in us. It is a free market and capitalism. If US can compete, it is your own problem. China didn’t start the trade war. The orange man and his cronies did.

gtconway3d Really ⁉️. The stock market has always ignored crises. Maybe a declared war but that lasts a few days.

gtconway3d No matter which party. You both use China as a scapegoat when things going wrong in China . 1st all, us can’t even survive without China . It is the rich uncle (who lend you trillions of Dollars) you love and hate at the same time . Us economy will sputter if not collapsed

gtconway3d The fed buys it so who cares

gtconway3d Your artical is very incendiary. Pitting against China for everything this country failed. China didn’t let 100k die. China didn’t use masks to divide people . China does not have this blatant racism and hatred . Us does not any any moral high ground.

gtconway3d Because it’s “fake news” or the latest “Democrats hoax”..... am I right?

gtconway3d You should focus on what is happening in US instead of China. China is not your punching bag. China is not your common hatred . What did China do to you ? Hong Kong is part of China and they need to follow the laws .

gtconway3d Soon we’ll be selling US bonds with a discount!

Now more money will flow from Hk to Wallstreet.

Because America needs to deal with America that’s why

gtconway3d For a split second I thought this story was about craft beers.

The US StockMarket is ignoring everything--HongKong, COVID, recession2020 AND it is at least 20% overvalued!

gtconway3d Cause we have our own problems right now?

the stock market is printed by fed no need for job loss or riots or outside

Because it's being propped up by tax payers money .

Because the fed’s balance sheet is approaching 7T on the way to 10T and beyond.

gtconway3d Because they are disconnected from reality.

gtconway3d Because it's been doing in the US for a long time and its getting good at it.

gtconway3d Because there is no crisis brewing in Hong Kong.

Stock Market ≠ Economy

Here are the Fed's ETF holdings as of May 19, ordered by aggregate market value.

Brrrrrrrrrrrr

gtconway3d Plunge protection team!!!!

Cause we’re getting rid of China in the stock market and Hong Kong is part of that move.

They believe that these two countries are too interdependent on each other. Just look at germany and france of the last century hahahaha

gtconway3d Hong Kong? We have 40 million people unemployed and positive COVID tests are rising rapidly.

gtconway3d Why is the U.S. stock market ignoring a brewing crisis in the US?

gtconway3d Because they are idiots. Why is the US market ignoring 40 million unemployed in the US right now?

gtconway3d Greed.

gtconway3d Didn't the market drop? Not crash but still give back some of its recovery.

gtconway3d It’s flush with stimulus

gtconway3d Because it's largely ignored every other non-COVID19 crisis for the last 3 years?

gtconway3d The US stock market is ignoring quite a bit these days.

gtconway3d Uh, because there is a lot going on at home? Maybe that?

There’s a far serious crisis in Minnesota dummy

Because they prefer not to ignore the riots at home this weekend. Red Monday Redemption

Probably because its the US stock market and not the Hong Kong exchange and so not every world issue will affect it? Just my guess but who knows 😐

Tone deaf title.

mjciampa lol why is it ignoring everything?

Because its too busy ignoring a current crisis in the US.
