Labor frontbencher Tony Burke says “anything” the government does to help the entertainment industry he “will welcome”.

This comes as the government hinted at working on a package to support the struggling industry. “I’m really hopeful, and the government has certainly raised a lot of expectations,” Mr Burke told Sky News. “They’ve had plenty of time to think about it,” he said.

“From the time the announcement on JobKeeper was made we’ve been explaining to government they have drawn a fence around this sector. “It’s created devastation for the past three months and hopefully the government makes some bold decisions this week.” Image: AP
