Elon Musk tweeted that Amazon should be broken up after it refused to publish a book that peddled falsehoods about the coronavirus

Elon Musk is calling for Amazon to be broken up after Amazon's publishing service refused to publish a book by a writer who has put forth conspiracy theories and falsehoods about the coronavirus.

"Time to break up Amazon. Monopolies are wrong!" Musk tweeted, also tagging Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and calling the situation "insane." Musk's comments were in response to writer Alex Berenson, who wrote a book titled "Unreported Truths about COVID-19 and Lockdowns" that Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing service is refusing to publish, saying it does not comply with its guidelines.

Amazon should be broken up, but not for that reason.

Can we stop using the fucking word 'falsehoods' we're not all 16th century Elisabethans. Its called telling fucking LIES😖

AlexBerenson wondering where they got their copy for a such fast analysis. Should be called “Drama Insider” instead

I am a writer and I publish on amazon which, as I see it, is a Publishing House. As such, it has the right to publish or not a book, any book. Berenson can go to another publisher to publish his book. There are many so the 'monopoly' argument is not right.

So, Mr. Musk is upset about another company's TOS? While on the subject of promoting conspiracy theories: WaPo should write an entire issue exposing SpaceX.

I would enjoy reading another point of view about the virus.

Yea because they benefited the most from it.

Waiting for Mr. Bezos answer... (MM 1 x MB 0)

Agreed ... but for vastly different reasons.

Don't conflate simple opinions on employees with racism. This is a bad headline. The employee tested positive for COVID and still came around his coworkers that’s why he was fired. And that’s why he was called that. Shame on you all for trying to start some mess during these times. That Attorney nothing wrong
