The UK steps up its fight with China by preparing tough new laws to prevent 'hostile' takeovers of British firms

Two crossed lines that form an 'X'. It indicates a way to close an interaction, or dismiss a notification. The UK risks further escalating tensions with China by preparing tough new laws to prevent takeovers of British firms.

Johnson is pushing for new rules which make it compulsory for British firms to report attempted takeovers that could create risks to national security, The new takeover laws proposed by Johnson would require a UK business to declare when a company tries to buy more than 25% of their shares, or to acquire "significant" influence, to purchase assets, or intellectual property.

Good job UK!

WilsonLeungWS Great to see uk wake up to its sovereign threat from china. You dont want xi to be your king. Time to round him up. Can u imagine how deep will be the damage if uk has Huawei 5G. Stop their nuclear plant construction n send them home. Put quota on ccp students

Time for UK to show China can’t mess with the joint promise without any consequences and demolish rule-based systems without defiance

Please be aware of China's ambition to take over the world! Say no to CCP!

Not going to see this here in Canada with Trudeau

Your money in HSBC = money in CCP’s pockets.

Tsumtsu26165853 Well done UK! Britain should stand up for it's best interest amid supporting HongKongers! SanctionChina SanctionHuawei CCP_is_terrorist HongKongNeedsHELP BNO HongKongSecurityLaw

UK citizens also need to support Govt. by BoycottChineseProducts and BoycottChineseApp so ChinaMustPay

TheLinPiglet Good to see that Boris n his govt are making a real move for fighting against CCP.

UK is now facing an imminent danger coming from China. China will ruin its economy and culture. HongKong needs to protected. StandWithHongKong

It should Because you could never know how Chinazi has already infiltrate into you society and how they could betray you

I think that's smart. This can keep the British corporation away from Chinese encroachment.

The Chinese Gov has targeted companies in the world that are on the verge of bankruptcy due to the virus crisis. They hope to steal important information and increase their local influence. The British government needs to be very careful😬

Glad 2 see the UK wake up n stand up against Chinazi

BorisJohnson is 'Taking Full Control'....

China has no respect for human rights unless you’re one of the CCP. Time to protest the lives of those who keep getting persecuted under the CCP!

Good luck with that. 🙄

Ha ha ha ha ha Seriously, the UK will be taken apart like a cheap watch after No Deal Brexit. Laws shmlaws

Relax and have a salad 🥗
