Two weeks since they were permitted to open their doors again, golf clubs in Metro Manila’s outskirts have seen varying degrees of satisfaction as business resumed.

With the new normal in place, club management have put out a virtually standard set of rules, which players must strictly adhere to.ALABANG COUNTRY CLUBThis golf club follows rules and guidelines to the letter, although its reopening was met both with positive and negative reactions, as expected.

“We have to remember, we are still in , with a lot of restrictions. Things will get better, for sure, but it would be a slow process. For now, or until a vaccine is discovered, we need to be more patient,” said Alabang Country Club golf director Henry Arabelo.General manager Raymond Bunquin said the club records 70 to 80 players on Tuesdays to Fridays and 140 on Saturdays and Sundays at the Nicklaus and Palmer courses, well above the club’s expectations.

Aside from the checkpoints, the departure of Koreans has also contributed to Splendido’s slow sales. In the past few years, the club earned enough through Korean golf tour operators.
