NEW YORK - The Dow and S&P 500 finished lower on Friday , giving up early gains after Apple announced that due to rising coronavirus cases, it would close some stores that had reopened.

The tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index finished narrowly positive, rising less than 0.1 per cent to 9,946.12. Maris Ogg of Tower Bridge Advisors said Apple's move reflects"the way this virus cycles geographically" and shouldn't meaningfully affect the outlook for the US.
