TPG shareholders will on Tuesday decide whether to merge with Vodafone to form a company which could rival telco giants Telstra and Optus.

Shareholders are expected to vote in favour of the proposal.

Locally, the ASX 200 is positive in early trade, with technology stocks leading the gains. In the US the NASDAQ, which is a technology index, hit a new record high which reflects the gains made on Australian markets. Image: Getty
