Australia's arts sector will get access to $250 million worth of grants and loans under a COVID-19 recovery package unveiled by the Federal Government.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the rescue package would help the arts industry re-build over the next yearGreens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young say more still needs to be done

"This package is as much about supporting the tradies who build stage sets or computer specialists who create the latest special effects, as it is about supporting actors and performers in major productions," he said. $90 million in concessional loans to help fund new productions. Loans will be delivered through commercial banks with a Commonwealth guarantee

Yeah, I don’t think the arts are going to drag us out of recession or stimulate the economy. This is money spent to entertain the wealthy in a few major cities.

So did anyone ask whether its real or notional funding? Its just we've been here before, big announcements but then the money never eventuates, or the application process is so convoluted no one is eligible.
