A company, led by a large Progressive Conservative Party donor and political appointee, that took out full-page advertisements against striking teachers’ unions in February has been found to have violated Ontario’s Elections Finances Act.

The letter, which was sent by the Manager of Compliance Enforcement at Elections Ontario Kevin Thomas, says there “has been an apparent contravention of section 37.5 and section 48 of the Elections Finances Act” and that Vaughan Working Families failed to register with Elections Ontario as a third party.

According to a report from the Toronto Star, one of the newspapers that carried the advertisements, invoices for the full-page ad were sent to a law firm by the name of Loopstra Nixon LLP. “No other partner, lawyer or employee of Loopstra Nixon LLP had any knowledge of these advertisements prior to their publication, or made any contribution to the cost of these publications,” they said. “We regularly act as the legal registered office of organizations who do not have a physical place of business.”

I remember during teacher contract negotiations the Liberals prorogued provincial government and imposed Bill 115. Both 10 times worse.

Working Families ring any bells? All's fair in love and dumb ass Politicians.

Not happy to read this but thank you for reporting and glad PC fan(s) charged

Canada’s elections are always mired in corruption by ALL parties. Doesn’t matter whether it’s federal or provincial This country lost its “moral authority” long ago.

That is disappointing

Who cares? $5000 fine for Lecce's developer buddies is chump change. Why not just throw up your hands and say 'oh well'?

Funny how memory loss works. Politics are corrupt in so many ways and most ppl in positions that directly affect us are not the right person for the task. They are placed in these positions by higher ups as puppets and do what they are told. Common sense ppl it works wonders

But collusion from Scheer and the CPC doesn't? Obama holding a donor party through Soros for Trudeau doesn't?
