The broad-based S&P 500 fell 1.9 per cent to 3,026.02, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index shed 2.1 per cent to 9,809.37. US indices fell sharply Wednesday, but recovered some of those losses yesterday on bargain hunting facilitated by loose monetary policy.
