President Muhammadu Buhari has described the death of Chief Akindele as an irreparable loss to the country.The President, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, said the late industrialist was one of the early individuals who supported the government intervention in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic by donating handsomely to the fund.
He condoled with the government and people of Oyo State, particularly the Olubadan-in-Council on the loss of the Parakoyi of Ibadanland.Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde said Akindele’s death was a great loss to the state and country.Makinde, who described the deceased as a worthy elder statesman and someone interested in the well-being of others, said the late businessman would be sorely missed.
Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, in a statement issued yesterday, the governor said the late Akindele contributed to the growth of the state and his community.ICCI President Chief Sola Abodunrin said the deceased did well for Ibadanland by facilitating the establishment of many industries.
