Donald Trump said he's considering banning TikTok as punishment for the coronavirus

President Trump said in an interview on Tuesday he is considering banning TikTok, confirming earlier comments from Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Trump's rationale is slightly different from the reason given by Pompeo, which is that the US is worried TikTok could be a national security risk. His remarks follow similar comments by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who told Fox News on Monday that the administration wasover privacy and national security concerns, fearing Chinese surveillance.

Great idea. Do it! Ban NIO, HUAWAEI, ALIBABA & the rest of them. They should not have access to our capital, our technology, our engineers, our know how. They do nothing but steal & hoard for their own benefit.

uhm..... or

realDonaldTrump is an idiot.

It wasn't that long ago when Tik Tok suspended a US based account for criticizing the Chinese governments treatment of Uighur Muslims but did it in a way disguising the video as a fashion or makeup tutorial. Seems to me that the government has heavy presence.

Chinese version of the app is called Douyin and the government/,police have a heavy presence in China. Who's to say that doesn't cross over in any way to Tik Tok? Its certainly possible and has been raising eyebrows for a least two years now.

His actions seem very trivial compared to his hatetweets to China

PFF is he still mad about the prank- Good😌💅✨

Can we ban trump for his handling of the coronavirus?

Tik Tok will be banned. I hate those cookies.

How's that gonna help him?😂😂😂😂

bantiktok boycotttiktok

The real reason, they won't do what he wants to manipulate people and no one is on Facebook anymore.

I don’t use tik tok but I guess that app don’t have Russian farm trolls like on Facebook or twitter

More like retaliation to these kids that did the prank a few weeks ago

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 He won't read briefings but he feels this is important?! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Til Tok may be the worst disease of the two

What a jackass.

we need to block tiktok in america. why are we allowing china's social/content network in america when they wont allow any of ours in china? why are we allowing them to get network effects in our country? it makes no sense CFIUS

Salty

How about as a security threat.

You, Corn Pops, it has nothing to do with Corona! It is data mining of personal data of Americans by CCP.

Im sure it has nothing to do with a bunch of kids organizing to expose himin his rally in Tulsa 🙄

? The correlation is....?

TikTok a Chinese App that takes Data and can be abused, Ban TikTok.

Ban it on principle of all those dangerous or dumb challenges and the line dancing videos (especially at medical staff in scrubs lined up in beyonce formation doing the same dance) -cringes the corniness-

🤣🤣🤣

TikTok should be banned everywhere it is spyware by China

Please tell me this is satire

Yes please

He’s just mad he doesn’t have a tiktok account

Literally the only thing we agree on.

nottheonion

It obviously has nothing to do with Tiktok being used by a lot of people to coordinate the epic trolling of his political campaign... Of course not!

We should ban TikTok because it’s an insidious app that collects your personal data and sends it back to the Chinese communist government!

he has to take that punishment to chinese
