Opinion | Trump's attacks on legal immigration show just how desperately the US needs to change our system. By Julie Pearl of PearlLawGroup

We're lucky he was persistent. But now, as the nation struggles with attempts to reopen during the pandemic and a crippling recession, we risk losing many more Eric Yuans and the thousands of people they employ. As an example of the havoc this can wreak to American workers, one major US corporation reluctantly cut 200 US jobs and moved a project to India because two key people of Indian nationality were not selected to receive temporary work visas. The company would have preferred to remain here, but the US's immigration system made it impossible.
