Prime Minister Scott Morrison will visit the Gold Coast today to pledge additional funding for the local film and television industry.
The Coalition argues the investment is estimated to attract around $3 billion in foreign spending, and create 8,000 jobs a year. "This investment is key to our JobMaker plan to create jobs, boost local business activity and provide training and skills," he said. "This isn't about one-offs. This is about getting repeat productions and getting jobs across production facilities all around the country," Mr Morrison said.

Aren’t boarders closed to overseas travellers ?
Another empty promise 'to receive', not 'we have given', how many false promises can this bloke make ? I hope someone is keeping tabs on these 'promises', how much has he spent so far when we are now in recession ?
Murdoch will be pleased
If only there *was* an Australian film 'industry'. Most dedicated artists (on both sides of the camera) hop from project to project -- small, large, whatever, just to keep working -- but are unemployed for the majority of the time. More of a paid hobby than an industry, sadly....
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha. How will they get here ScoMo?
Why? they would only benefit Netflix n Amazon GOV is buying jobs That is not how real econ works It is very superficial
emptypromises
Can’t wait for people to find negativity here. Go:
We need a pool of perhaps 40% of the population with zero job security, on minimum wages (or better still less) crawling over each other in a race to the bottom on wages and conditions. If they get an hour's work, tick them off as having a 'job'. They'll even blame themselves!
