After years of sleeping in, I started waking up at 5 a.m., and I'm amazed by how it changes my day

" is my go-to gift for friends — I was enthused to read it, despite thinking a 5 a.m. start could never apply to me.

After nights when I'd sleep restlessly, I'd sometimes snooze till 9 a.m. and was behind on my day the moment my feet hit the floor. I'd switch stuff around, delay items on my to-do list for another time, and even incur ClassPass cancellation fees for my workouts. Fully waking up first and applying the "20/20/20 formula" — 20 minutes of moving, 20 minutes of reflecting, and 20 minutes for personal growth — ensures you start the day device-free while setting self-directed intentions for the day ahead .

There's just something too about dawn that makes you feel a deeper connection to yourself. No one is calling you at that time. Most of the world is still sleeping. It's clear thinking time, just for you.

We made it at 4 or even 1 hour before sunrise.. daily, entire life. Or Adzan Will wake me up. 🌝🌝 When I missed it, my day will messy, I guess.

My life

Wake up at 2 and then at 6!

I’d rather get up later and be able to stay awake for prime time sports

I can't do 5am, but 6:30am has changed my day incredibly!

I do that too because I have to.

Try joining the 4 a.m. club. See how that feels.

Been doing it forever. The main benefit is being able to work overtime from Monday to Friday so I can spend the weekend with the family. Which is invaluable. But it's not gonna turn you into a millionaire.

My creativity level spike from the early hours of the day. So I wake by 4/5 AM and finish the tedious daily routines n complete the less mental demanding ones in the latter part of the day
