Walmart won't enforce its own rules on mask-wearing because it fears staff could be attacked by shoppers angry at being challenged

However, a training video seen by CNN tells management to let people who refuse to wear a mask "continue to shop."

"Our goal is to keep associates from a physical confrontation situation, and our ambassadors will be trained on those exceptions to help reduce friction for the shopper," she added.Walmart first announced its mask rule explaining how it trained special "health ambassadors" whose job it is to stand at the store entrance and "remind those without a mask of our new requirements.

The company does not rule out involving law enforcement, however. A Walmart spokesperson told CNN: "While we do try to find solutions for customers who are not wearing face coverings, from time to time, we do need to call police for assistance in those areas."

Would like to know what training video CNN is talking about, no one at my store knows nothing about it. If you don't wear a mask, you don't come in, if you take it off while inside you are politely and with respect given the choice to comply or leave with or without security.

So... not a rule. More like a suggestion?

I hadn't gone to Walmart in months until they started a mask policy. I went a couple times after that but it's again off my list. Yesterday I went to a Habitat for Humanity Restore & they hired an off duty police officer to ensure mask compliance. Walmart $524 B annual profit.

So....good?

They saw the green going into someone else's coffers. Gotta make that money, 'pandemic' be damned.

Employ out of work bouncers. Bars are closed

Quick Mitch, pass that liability protection so Walmart employees who catch COVID from idiot customers can’t sue the poor second richest corporate owners in the world

The dis-ease of the right-wingers is almost as bad as the disease itself. If only we could rid the world of both.

Your NOLA staff has to lead by example ... nose and all

Hire a few out of work bouncers

“...a training video seen by CNN tells management to let people who refuse to wear a mask 'continue to shop.' 🧐 So.... not a ‘rule’

Rules that are not enforced are worse than having no rules at all.

It's true. I see the tension in every store. Not just Walmart. And some people are armed. Good times.
