Over the past few months, the HoloLens 2 headsets have supported life-saving treatment at the NHS hospital by allowing doctors to share visuals from the operating theatre or wards with staff in other rooms, reducing the exposure of front-line medical staff to the coronavirus. Alder Hey is pioneering the use of the tech on large-scale specialist ward rounds and in the highly complex, risky field of child heart surgery. The trust is responsible for the treatment of 8.5 million people across the North West of England, Wales, and the Isle of Man, and already plans to roll out the tech to other hospitals.
