Facebook has started issuing a warning to users that from October 1 it will reserve the right to take down content if it thinks it necessary to "avoid or mitigate adverse legal or regulatory impacts to Facebook."
The executive order sought to roll back legal protections afforded to internet platforms by Section 230.Facebook is giving itself broader license to remove any content that could result in regulatory or legal headaches for the company. "We also can remove or restrict access to your content, services or information if we determine that doing so is reasonably necessary to avoid or mitigate adverse legal or regulatory impacts to Facebook," the updated wording of Facebook's terms and conditions reads.
