Metromile's agreement with Ford will enhance its behavioral data capabilities and allow it to market its policies to Ford's customers

Auto policyholders who own a connected car from Ford—the most common manufacturer among Metromile's customer base—will be able to connect their car to Metromile via the car's odometer, eliminating the need to install the Metromile Pulse telematics device typically required to transmit driving data to the insurer.

The Ford partnership will expedite Metromile's strategy to integrate behavioral data into its coverage pricing on a wider scale, while also giving it access to a large pool of potential new customers. Metromile's UBI offering is primarily based on mileage, and its application of behavioral data trails competitors. Don't fall for it. Despite you pay a premium or full coverage, Metromile will low ball you anyway when the time for a claim or repair. They will authorize for a junk part, not an OEM. Don't use Metromile insurance if you have a luxury brand car, and pray you won't need a repair.
