Tesla CEO Elon Musk and his family aren't planning to get a COVID-19 vaccine when one becomes available, he told The New York Times' Kara Swisher in an episode of the podcastMusk said that he believes he and his kids aren't at risk of contracting the coronavirus and therefore have no plans to be vaccinated against the virus. There is no evidence Musk and his family are any less susceptible to the highly contagious virus that has so far killed more than 200,000 Americans of all ages.
Musk has been outspoken about the coronavirus crisis since the outset and has frequently disputed both the data around the virus as well as the government's response to it, particularly stay-at-home orders. Research has found that sweeping stay-at-home orders enacted between March and May may have prevented millions of infections and hundreds of thousands of deaths in the US.Musk discussed his feelings about the virus ona podcast hosted by The New York Times' Kara Swisher, published Monday. We will have about 10% of the populace that won't vaccinate for varied reasons. I for one will likely get one or two of the varied formulas pushed out into me ASAP. I'm not especially at HIGH RISK, but being over 60 is a FACTOR so better safe than sorry.
